Hidden Camera Voyeurism
Hidden Camera Voyeurism
In the age of advanced technology, it’s easier than ever to hide a recording device. You can find dozens of devices, such as alarm clocks and cell phone chargers, for less than 40 dollars. The number of reports of voyeuristic behaviors involving hidden cameras is on the rise.
Recent news stories have featured several examples of Hidden Camera Voyeurism, including the arrest of a man from Slidell who was caught spying on his stepson using hidden cameras in the bathroom. Another story involved a wealthy Aiken socialite who was held liable for $27 million in damages after a jury found him guilty of voyeuristic behavior after finding hidden cameras at his rental property where the couple vacationed.
The victims of these incidents have alleged that they were subjected to emotional distress, lost wages, and physical harm as a result of the invasive behavior. Some respondents to the survey fell under the Organized category, and they showed some planning before engaging in voyeuristic behaviors, such as those that bought or built cameras in order to spy on friends, family, strangers or acquaintances. Some participants fell into the No Planning group, where they engaged voyeuristic behavior without any apparent planning.
